When Balmain hit the runway for the Fall fashion show this year, it had everyone’s attention. Every single detail within each garment was beyond amazing. Every piece was literally wearable art. Although I am no where near as designed oriented as these high fashion designers, I was truly inspired by them. I loved the colors and textures that each design carries. Olive being one of the hottest colors for Fall, I wanted to create a simple sheath dress while incorporating a simple detailing of leather. I can sort of picture Kim K. wearing my dress. Can’t you? LOL! (Only in my dreams) As for the dress, I used New Look’s 0167, view B. (I found it at a yard sale) I basically made the dress exactly how the instructions stated. I looked at it and just thought it was quite boring so, I had some extra leather laying around so I decided that I wanted to incorporate it in the dress somehow. I played with a few designs, but ended up with this one. I cut the shoulders of the dress apart and added the leather. I understitched the neckline for the main part of the dress, but for the leather, I topstitched. I really loved how this dress came out. It looks a high-end, designer dress, but of course we all know that it wasn’t. I purchased 2 yards of the fabric for $5/yd while in NY and the leather was scraps that I found laying around my house. I’d love to hear your thoughts on the dress. Comment below.
So my little brother is back from college! Yaaayy!!! I asked him to come up with a DIY gift for the guys in our lives and I LOVE it. It’s simple, easy, and it actually looks store-bought. My husband will definitely be getting one of these.
I love this style of iPad sleeve because it’ sleek, modern, and it looks quite classy. And guess what? It’s actually a “Look for Less”. He found the idea from a company called Hard Graft. It is priced at $114. Can you believe it? YOU can make this for about $5!!! Saving you $109. What?!?!?! (Remember to use coupons when shopping!)
What’s special about DIYing gifts is, you can customize the materials to match the person recieving it. So….if you actually wanted to gift this to a woman and or anyone with maybe a kindle or another tablet, you can change up the measurements and you can use a different colored felt. There are so many bright colorful felts in the fabric store, so you’ll have fun customizing this project. Hope you all enjoy. Remember for a list of supplies you’ll need and the pattern that is needed to complete this project, head on over to Victor + Alexander. Thumbs up the video if you think someone in your family would enjoy this gift. XOXOXO
Fall is my absolute favorite season. I love EVERYTHING about it. The smell, the food, and ofcourse, the clothes. So since Fall is around the corner, I decided to bring you the perfect Fall transitioning piece. Circle skirts are the best transitioning piece when it comes to Fall fashion. They are perfect paired with bare legs or colored tights.
The pattern that I chose for this skirt is awesome for those that have never sewn a thing in their lives. The steps in this pattern is extremely easy to follow and this skirt is so fast and easy that you may want to make more than one. I know I am! Black and white is a must have trend for Fall so I chose this black and white ethnic printed linen fabric. I absolutely love it! It’s color is toned down, yet the print is so bold. The fabric and pattern were both purchased at JoAnn Fabrics.
