Sewing Studio Makeover + DIY Decor + Giveaway

Hi everyone!

So for a month and half, I have been working long and hard behind the scenes making over a room in my home.  It took me a minute to decide what I wanted this particular room to be but eventually I figured it out.  So…you all know that for a while, I’ve had a sewing closet.  I’ve always dreamt of having a sewing studio so I felt that this was my chance to go for it.  So I wanted to describe my style very briefly so that you are able to understand the direction I was going in:

  • “Cheap but Chic”- I wanted my room to portray an expensive look and feel, without the high price tag.
  • Minimal- I wanted the room to have a clean feel with a simple color palette.
  • Inspirational- I wanted to feel inspired in every direction I looked whether through words, pictures, or colors.

Here I provided a few BEFORE shots of my space:
BEFORE1 BEFORE2 BEFORE3 BEFORE4 BEFORE5

In order to eliminate the high price tag, I shopped around my house for stuff I can incorporate into my space and of course the room would not be me if it did not have DIY projects.  Below are a few pictures of DIY projects that I created.  I made my own curtains, wall art, painted my frames, faux metal knick knacks, painted my vases, inspiration board, shelving units, book covers and pillows. You probably want to know how I did all of this right?  Well, you are in luck! I show you how in the video I provided at the end of this blog post. But first, here are the “AFTER” photos of my brand new sewing studio.

Tartan, Tulle, & Bow Ties + Giveaway

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. We sure did!  Did you all happen to send out Christmas cards this year?  I definitely wanted to go all out this year and boy did I work hard to pull it off!
xmascardI made mine and my daughter’s skirts.  I made it out of satin and tulle.  I also made a petticoat to wear underneath our skirts to give it that poofy look that I wanted.  I also ended up making my son’s vest out of the popular print of this season; tartan.  My brother helped me pull the look together for the males in our family by making us some bow ties which were also made with tartan.
tartanI decided to do a behind the scenes video of me making the clothes for the photo shoot.  I hope you all enjoy the video.  I listed the photos from our photo shoot below.  Hope you all have a happy holidays.

YouTube Giveaway Time

Hello Ladies and Gents!

I haven’t done a giveaway in a while so I decided to do a giveaway celebrating my first big milestone on Youtube.  It will only be for my YouTube subbies only though. So be there or be square.  The item that I will be giving away is a fabulous tote bag from Aldo that is currently on trend at the moment and when the neon trend isn’t in (picture doesn’t do the bag justice), you can zip it up and hide that color if you don’t like it anymore.  All in all, it’s a fabulous tote that you can wear to work, school, to the beach, shopping, or wherever.  So hopefully you guys head on over to my channel and enter.  See you there.
